Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring a current NY RN license, prior travel experience, and comfort floating across multiple units on night shifts.
Responsibilities- 13-week contract at an acute care hospital
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatrics units
- Coronary Care patient population included in float rotation
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- Call required
- Charting system: MEDITECH
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties
- Must demonstrate strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
- Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations with creative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills are essential
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
- Active NY RN license currently in hand (required)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- At least one completed travel nursing assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Coronary Care experience required
- Experience floating across Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units
- Previous hospital RN experience preferred
- Ability to safely assess and implement use of lifts and patient movement techniques
- 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager within the past year and within the specialty are required for consideration
