Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and an active NY RN license.
Responsibilities- Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- No on-call requirements
- Must be able to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties
- Must demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
- Must be able to assess and safely implement use of lifts to move patients
- Must perform well in high-stress situations with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; a 100-mile radius rule applies to the travel pay rate
- Active NY State (NYS) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer
- MEDITECH EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probationary period and become defibrillation certified within six months of employment
- Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified (completed during orientation)
- Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
- 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager from within the past year and within the ED specialty required for consideration
