Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and an active NY RN license.

• Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• No on-call requirements
• Must be able to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
• Must be able to assess and safely implement use of lifts to move patients
• Must perform well in high-stress situations with strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; a 100-mile radius rule applies to the travel pay rate

• Active NY State (NYS) RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer
• MEDITECH EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probationary period and become defibrillation certified within six months of employment
• Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified (completed during orientation)
• Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager from within the past year and within the ED specialty required for consideration
