Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current NY RN license for an 8-hour day shift assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
- Shift is 8-hour days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, five days per week
- Weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage are required
- 13-week contract assignment
- Patient population includes those undergoing surgical procedures
- May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities as needed
- Must demonstrate ability to assess and address clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
- Responsible for recognizing and implementing safety practices, including safe patient movement using lifts
- Must function well under stress and possess creative problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of OR and Ambulatory Surgery Unit clinical equipment and aseptic techniques required
- On-call response time requirement is 30 minutes
- Active New York RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Minimum one year of medical/surgical experience preferred
- Must pass a final exam as a condition of employment in the Operating Room
- Must be able to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
