Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department contract requiring a current NY RN license and prior travel nurse experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
- 13-week contract assignment
- No on-call responsibilities
- Use of MEDITECH EMR with experience required
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills necessary
- Ability to identify and intervene in life threatening emergencies
- Must recognize safety issues and use lifts for safe patient handling
- Active NY RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Minimum of one year acute care nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with MEDITECH EMR required
- Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation
- Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within six months
- 75 mile radius rule applies; local candidates not accepted
