Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts for 13-week assignment

• 2+ years of nursing experience required

• Must be graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

• Current New York State RN license required

• Those without recent Operating Room experience must participate and pass the six-month Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program

• Successful completion and passing grade on final exam is mandatory condition of employment

• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred

• Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred

• Preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs

• Must possess thorough knowledge of nursing principles and ability to provide quality patient care

• Ability to assess patient's clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual needs

• Must recognize safety issues and implement safe patient lifting techniques

• Function well in stressful situations with creative problem-solving skills

• Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize and delegate

• May be required to assume charge nurse duties

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Knowledge of clinical equipment instrumentation for safe/aseptic OR/ASU environment

• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills required

• On-call responsibilities required with 30-minute response time

• Must comply with 100-mile radius rule
