The Deputy Chief of Staff serves as a trusted extension of the CEO, combining high-level executive support with hands-on involvement in strategic planning, business operations, and cross-functional coordination. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-moving biotech environment and can seamlessly shift between detailed execution and strategic thinking.
Core Responsibilities- Act as primary day-to-day support for the CEO, managing calendar, priorities, and communications
- Prepare briefing materials, agendas, and follow-ups for executive meetings and board interactions
- Draft, edit, and manage executive correspondence, presentations, and internal communications
- Coordinate travel, logistics, and meeting preparation with a high degree of discretion and professionalism
- Serve as thought partner to ensure the CEO’s time is aligned with strategic priorities
- Track action items and deadlines across leadership discussions and ensure timely follow-through
- Support annual and quarterly strategic planning processes, including goal setting and KPI tracking
- Assist in developing business plans, operating reviews, and executive-level presentations
- Conduct research, synthesize data, and prepare analyses to inform leadership decisions
- Partner with leadership on special projects related to growth, partnerships, and operational scaling
- Help translate strategy into execution by coordinating across functions (R&D, Clinical, Finance, HR)
- Monitor progress on key initiatives and proactively flag risks or misalignment
- Act as a connective hub between the CEO and functional leaders
- Ensure alignment, clarity, and accountability across teams
- Support preparation for board meetings, investor updates, and external stakeholder engagements
- Drive consistency in leadership communications and internal messaging
