Job Description
Fire Protection Designer (Senior to Mid-Level)
Location:
Watertown, MA
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 per year (base) plus bonus potential.
We are seeking a Fire Protection Designer to design sprinkler system layouts for life‑science, healthcare, and higher‑education projects ranging from $50K to $20M.
Responsibilities- Design layouts of fire sprinkler systems, including coordination with other MEP trades.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and stock listings.
- Attend virtual and project coordination meetings.
- Perform field surveys and hydrant flow tests.
- Provide occasional support to the estimating department to prepare / review bid drawings.
- BS degree desired (not required).
- 2‑5+ years of experience performing sprinkler design and calculations.
- Strong technical background in mechanical, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems.
- NICET certification a plus.
- AutoSPRINK experience desired.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards.
- Previous installation experience a plus.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, efficient, self‑motivated and flexible team player.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Commitment to providing premier customer service.
- $120–$130 Annual Base Comp (before OT) ($57.69 – $62.50 per hour).
- Base Pay + Bonus Program up to 12% of base comp.
- 8% based on Company Performance (paid out 2% per quarter).
- 4% based on personal performance paid once a year.
