Patient Care Assistant​/CNA Acute Care PT Nights

Position Purpose

Serve as a key part of our patient care team providing daily cares.

Part time

12 Hour Night Shift

This position is for any acute care/medical‑surgical areas at the Waterloo Medical Center location.

  Cardiac/Nephrology Unit

  Post Surgical Unit
• General:
  Orthopedics/Neurology Unit

All unit colleagues will float depending on patient census.

• Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.
• Performs unit-based functions as assigned.

6 FTE; 48 hours per bi‑weekly pay period.

12‑hour shifts, every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation.

Night shift; 6:45pm – 7:01am.

• Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:
  Nurse Aide I course;
  Nursing Fundamentals course;
  Nurse Aid Competency Test.
• Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing job duties.
