Provides physical therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, competently provides treatment to patients.
  • Communicates relevant patient information.
  • Provides education to patients and families.
  • Supervises students and volunteers.
  • Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
  • Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies/procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Iowa.
  • No experience required.
  • Mandatory Reporter; BLS; FIM.
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) (Contract Therapy only).
Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Performs tasks which involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue.
  • Works in an outpatient clinical setting and/or hospital-based inpatient setting. Environments are controlled to avoid extremes in climate, temperature, noise, and exposure to chemicals.
  • Lift/Carry – 50-75 lbs;
    Push/Pull – 50-75 lbs. Other tasks may include Reach, Overhead, Climb, Squat/Bend/Kneel, Sit, Stand, Walk/Move About.
  • Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
