Occupational Therapist – Full Time

Waterloo Medical Center:
Full-Time Day Shift – 64 hours biweekly (8‑hour shifts).

Provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments to patients to facilitate and maximize functioning level as prescribed by physician. Adheres to Mercy One's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Mercy One.

• Administers treatment techniques competently.
• Conducts patient assessment.
• Develops treatment plans for patients.
• Communicates relevant patient information.
• Provides information on safe transferring/mobility techniques.
• Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel.
• Supervises students and volunteers.
• Provides care appropriate to the age‑related needs of patients served on his/her assigned unit based on principles of growth and development.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under the supervision of an Iowa‑licensed OT for a period not to exceed 6 months from the date the application was received in the board office for licensure by examination).
• Mandatory Reporter, BLS, FIM.
• Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
