DescriptionThe supervisor, electric distribution engineering provides highly technical engineering services and direction for individuals within electric distribution engineering. Responsibilities include supervision of electric distribution engineering employees, planning and setting work objectives, providing complex technical solutions for distribution projects, and providing project management oversight in terms of planning, budgeting, designing and construction of electric distribution facilities.
ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced engineering services for the planning, design, and construction of electric distribution projects. Directs, coordinates, and reviews work activities and work product of engineers, technicians, lighting specialists, and construction coordinators. Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, scheduling, cost tracking and project cost projections. Oversee or conduct advanced engineering studies and complex investigations, prepare oral and written reports of results, and provide recommendations from the studies/investigations.
Provides internal training and advanced engineering assistance for distribution engineering personnel and other departments. Develops well‑documented work and system processes to support communications, workflow, and project scheduling. Responsibilities may include talent development, performance management, development of training, internal and external presentations, chairing committees, and additional responsibilities as requested.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Six years of successful industry experience in engineering or related field.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Advanced degree is preferred. Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills. Advanced project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
