Medcor is seeking a Part-Time Physician to provide hands-on Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine services at our onsite employer-based clinic in Waterloo, IA. This role offers a highly predictable schedule, meaningful clinical work, and a supportive team-based environment.
Schedule
- Tuesday: 5:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Total Hours: 12 hours per week
- No nights, weekends, or call
Relocation package provided
Scope of Services
The clinic provides a broad range of onsite services, including:
- Episodic and urgent care
- Limited primary care
- Diagnosis and treatment of workers compensation injuries and illnesses
- Regulatory exams and preventive services
- Basic point-of-care lab work
- Limited on-site prescription dispensing
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide medical direction for the clinics PA/NP practice
- Consult with the clinics PA or NP as needed
- Support PA/NP education and professional development
- Deliver outpatient-level occupational medicine services
- Conduct medical surveillance
- Assess and treat work-related injuries and illnesses
- Provide urgent care for non-work-related injuries and illnesses
- Perform fit-for-duty evaluations
- Provide initial stabilization for patients requiring higher-level care or EMS transfer
- Conduct pre-placement evaluations
- Perform DOT physicals
- Apply MD Guidelines successfully in daily practice
Practice Plan Requirements
- PA model: Physician and PA will execute and file a practice plan compliant with the applicable state board
- NP model: Physician and NP will execute a collaboration agreement
- Medcor practice plan agreements are used when no state-specific template exists
Required Qualifications
- Valid, unrestricted medical license in both Illinois and Iowa
- One of the following backgrounds:
- Double board certified in Occupational Medicine and a Primary Care specialty (IM, FM, EM)
- Board certified in Occupational Medicine with extensive orthopedic, urgent care, and/or primary care experience
- Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with Sports Medicine fellowship training
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine with strong orthopedic skills and experience in occupational and primary care
- Current, unrestricted DEA registration and applicable state-controlled substance registration
- BLS certification
- DOT certification
- Occupational health and Workers Compensation experience
- Ability to lift a 30 lb jump bag/backpack
