Shift Description: We are seeking a dedicated Family Medicine faculty member to join our academic team, contributing to the education and development of residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role combines clinical supervision, direct patient care, and academic leadership, including didactic teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and resident advising. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mentoring future physicians and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities- Inpatient supervision and education of residents on the Family Medicine inpatient service, including adult medicine and newborn care (OB optional).
- Outpatient supervision in continuity and procedure clinics; delivery of direct patient care in the outpatient clinic setting.
- Lead program-wide quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and resident education (1–2 initiatives annually).
- Didactic teaching: present 10–12 lectures annually as part of the residency curriculum.
- Resident advising: serve as a faculty advisor to approximately five residents.
- Administrative duties: participate in program administration, curriculum development, and regular faculty meetings to support continuous program improvement.
- Typical weekly structure includes 4 half-days of inpatient teaching/service, 2–3 half-days of resident clinic supervision, 1 half-day of procedure clinic, 1 half-day of protected administrative time, and 1 half-day for conferences.
- Call responsibilities: office call only, shared in a 1:4 rotation with nurse triage support; no hospital call required.
- Obstetrics participation is optional, based on candidate interest.
