As an RN-Surgical Stepdown nurse, you will:

• Utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient care.
• Maintain professional accountability for the care of your assigned patients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinate patient care with various departments.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform your duties in alignment with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.

Certifications required include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
• One or more of the following based on your position/unit:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Six Assessment & Care Modules)
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
