This position plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in the plant
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment
- Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
- Confers with management to implement plans and analyzes product or equipment specifications, performance requirements to determine product designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods
- Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors
- Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning
- Confers with plant manager to clarify or resolve problems and develops design
- Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout, tooling layouts, product design and detailed drawings and schematics
- Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product
- Plans and develops experimental test programs
- Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.E.) in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and peers
- Ability to apply mathematical operations and/or statistical analysis to calculate standards, efficiency, capacity, etc.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Dimensional skill required
- Initiative, ability to learn, oral and written communications, adaptability, team cooperation, planning and organization, and problem solution
- Experience in the automotive industry and automation equipment
- Strong interpersonal and computer skills including CAD
- Experience with PLEX and PDM
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Professional, position and people-oriented approach
- Able to sit or stand for 8
-10 hours a day. - Unairconditioned manufacturing facility and air-conditioned office
