- Regular school year position
- The position is 5 days per week, 7:45-3:15
- Grade levels K-5
- Class 4 on HPPA Salary Schedule
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants should have experience, meet all state requirements and rate high in the following areas:
• Pass ETS Test, or have 2 years of college
• Shall have at least a high school diploma
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow an individualized Behavioral Plan, under the teacher/ psychologist direction.
• Good attendance record is expected
• Certified in the C.P.I. training and the ability to implement all stages of the training, including the restraint portion of Crisis Prevention, OR, willingness to take the training and implement procedures
• Work under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher
• Ability to communicate with teachers, pupils, parents, and the public in a professional, friendly manner
• Ability and willingness to deal with challenging behaviors under the direction of the teacher with poise and professionalism
• Maintain confidentiality of work related information
• Ability to work with a diverse group of students with ASD, implementing individualized behavioral plans
• Ability to be flexible and take on a variety of assignments within the classroom and the building
• Ability to understand that each student may work under an individualized plan which matches their learning level, which includes significant cognitive impairments along with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Knowledge of Autism and experience and/or training in working with students with ASD is preferred.
- DUTIES
• Maintain the confidentiality of all students, staff, and administrative correspondence
• Perform all assigned tasks in a prompt and professional manner
• In the absence of immediate administration direction, act in the best interests of the students and the school district. Deal with teachers, pupils, parents, and the public with friendliness, tact, and poise.
• Perform other duties and assignments as may be directed by the program administrator or other assigned professional staff members.
