• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
