The Waterford Public Schools seeks an experienced, dynamic, inspirational, student-centered leader to serve in the position of Assistant Principal at Clark Lane Middle School. Waterford Public Schools serve approximately 2,400 students in PK-12. The District includes three elementary, one middle and one high school. According to the State of Connecticut Next Generation Performance Accountability System, Waterford Public Schools ranks in the top 25% of K-12 school districts in the state.
The Clark Lane Middle School Assistant Principal is a part of an administrative team made up of a Principal and an Assistant Principal. The successful candidate is expected to have secondary teaching experience, knowledge of middle school organizational philosophy and evidence of successful school-based leadership experience. This is a highly desirable professional opportunity in an inspirational learning environment with a dedicated staff, strong parental and community support.

Requirements:
* Master's Degree in Education
* Connecticut Intermediate Administration Certification (Endorsement 092)
* Minimum of five years teaching experience and/or administration experience
Qualifications:
* A commitment to providing and sharing a clear vision for the needs of students and the school, with sensitivity to existing programs and with a global perspective.
* Experience in the supervision and evaluation of staff and proven leadership in the areas of curriculum, student achievement, assessments and the development of positive school climate.
* Ability to effectively solve problems, use common sense, show poise, and act as a team player who leads by example.
* Demonstrates exceptional communication skills that will support school and district goals and fosters positive relationships throughout the school community.
* Demonstrates knowledge of, and effective use of, technology in instruction, management and communication.
