Ser Vermont is housed within Vermont’s Agency of Human Services. The Ser Vermont mission is to promote, support, and recognize volunteerism and community service throughout Vermont. Ser Vermont VISTA Umbrella Project members serve at community-based non-profit organizations and State agencies throughout Vermont that help alleviate poverty and improve the lives of Vermonters. Members build capacity in a wide variety of programs including food security, environment, education, disaster response, workforce development, and affordable housing and homelessness.
In this role, you will support the VISTA team by planning trainings and meetings, conducting site visits, facilitating effective communication, strengthening our alumni network, and providing support and resources for members throughout the program year. The ideal candidate will have both strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This is a great opportunity for individuals seeking increased responsibility and further experience in program management, leadership, communications, event planning, team building and more.
VISTA Leaders must have previously completed at least one year of service with Ameri Corps, or have served in the Peace Corps. VISTA Leaders serving in Vermont are encouraged, but not required, to have a personal vehicle.

Member DutiesThe VISTA Leader will collaborate with Ser Vermont's VISTA Program Director to support VISTA members throughout their year of service. Specific duties include data compilation and management, reporting, conducting site visits, planning training, drafting newsletters, leading social media efforts, and recruiting members. The program seeks a strong leader who is comfortable with a wide variety of roles including but not limited to mentor, recruiter, social media extraordinaire, facilitator, data organizer, distributer of friendly reminders, provider of resources, and event planner.
This position also provides the opportunity for the Leader to take the initiative on additional projects tailored to their skill set or passions. Come join our small but mighty team based in the beautiful and historic Waterbury, Vermont.
