As a Collections Operato
r, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted.

Based in Waterbury, CT you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the sewer collection system on an assigned shift or emergency basis. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities.

Primaries duties includes but are not limited to
  • Operate and maintain equipment including but not limited to backhoe, excavator, CCTV truck, skid steer, and vactor/jetter truck, and equipment used in trench work.
  • Clean and clear sewer lines.
  • Adjust manhole covers and replace manhole frames.
  • Inspect, camera, repair, and maintain flowing conditions in the sewer system.
  • Perform operation and maintenance tasks at the landfill South End Disposal Area (SEDA) and pump stations around the City.
  • Complete work orders and field complaint forms.
  • Respond to Call-before-you-dig (CBYD) requests.
  • Respond to sewer emergencies
  • Perform other duties as required

Here's what you'll need
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license with no major infractions
  • Knowledge of sewer collection system and tools, equipment, materials used to maintain and repair system.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to be on-call.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
  • Approved courses in sewer collection systems.
  • Safe work practices.

The base salary range for this position is $62,400.00 to $72,800.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
