, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) delivers patient care for same-day surgeries. This role focuses on providing high-quality recovery care for patients undergoing outpatient procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment.
- Deliver post-operative care to patients recovering from same-day surgical procedures, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia and readiness for discharge.
- Monitor vital signs, manage pain and nausea, and provide patient education and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery
Preferred:
- Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU experience with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills.
Note:
Training is not available for candidates without this expertise - BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)
- Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines
- Part-Time – 24 hours/week
- Variable start times
- All shifts are Monday through Friday
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
- Specialty pay available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
