Part‑Time, Non‑Union, Non‑Exempt Position
$16.94 per hour, 25 hours per week
Monday through Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm
Basic Function Of Maintenance & Custodial Worker
- Assist in maintenance and repairs of buildings, including minor repairs, painting, office reconfigurations, and general building upkeep.
- Maintain outdoor facilities and grounds, including routine trash pickup, landscape work, lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and general clean‑up of parking lots and walkways.
- Perform daily custodial duties, such as dusting, cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and ensuring restrooms are clean and well‑stocked.
- Set up and breakdown furniture and equipment for events and meetings.
- Move furniture and files as needed, and routinely organize storage and inventory areas.
- Assist in monitoring facilities and grounds for safety hazards, and promptly report/address issues.
- Utilize the agency’s work order system to efficiently log, track, and manage assigned tasks.
- Be available to work early mornings, nights and/or weekends, particularly in adverse weather conditions or emergencies.
- Plan and conduct snow removal and other weather‑related maintenance tasks as needed.
- Open and close buildings as assigned, may include disarming and setting alarm systems.
- Transport agency donations and deliveries as needed.
- Assist in planning and conducting regular inspections and fire drills.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the agency.
High School or G.E.D. preferred
Experience2 years of general maintenance related work experience.
Job Skills- Basic carpentry and maintenance skills
- Basic math skills
- Solid communication skills
- Basic HVAC skills preferred
Current Connecticut driver’s license, own transportation and current CT required insurance.
