Role SummaryThe Evening Security Monitor supports the daily stability and safety of clients and staff. This position is responsible for providing consistent oversight of the facility and its residents, ensuring program expectations are followed while promoting a respectful, recovery-focused atmosphere. Evening Security Monitors act as the frontline presence during assigned shifts, responding to routine needs and safety issues as they arise. The role requires sound judgement, strong situational awareness, and the ability to interact professionally with residents experiencing complex behavioral health challenges.
By maintaining structure, documenting observations, and communicating effectively between departments, the Evening Security Monitor helps create an environment where clients can focus on treatment and personal growth.
- Supervise clients to promote safety, accountability, and compliance with program guidelines
- Complete scheduled building checks and monitor common areas
- Record shift notes, incidents, and observations in accordance with agency policy
- Follow emergency response procedures and report concerns promptly
- Maintain ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Communicate effectively with treatment team members across shifts
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in residential programs or behavioral health preferred but not required
- Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and respectfully
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to pass required background check in accordance with state law
