Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards.

• Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality for freshness, review sell‑by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non‑perishable grocery products that they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures and keep temperature logs for cases and coolers.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Create an environment that welcomes customers and responds to their product questions throughout the store.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate manager of items needing repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
