Verovian Nursing Agency is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 5N Medical Oncology Unit in Wasilla, Alaska.

As part of the oncology care team, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatments.

Job specification

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with oncologists, healthcare providers, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on cancer treatments, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatments, progress, and responses to therapy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care within the oncology unit.
• Follow hospital policies and adhere to safety standards for chemotherapy and other oncology treatments.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• 2 years of experience in oncology nursing or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and oncology patient care.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
