Full-Time Crisis Intervention Specialist

The Careline crisis hotline team provides therapeutic support for Alaskans accessing the statewide crisis and suicide hotline. This position will implement policies, protocols, and services designed to assist individuals who are in crisis, including those considering dying by suicide, those concerned about someone else with suicidal behavior by providing emotional support, crisis response, and intervention. This position also provides support, information, and referral for non-crisis calls.

Services are provided via phone calls, text messaging, or chat. As a member of the Careline team, you will interact with clients and staff in a respectful and empowering manner, exercise consistent and dependable attendance, and attend all mandatory staff meetings. At Careline, all staff present themselves professionally and maintain confidentiality when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Human Services or a closely related field (prior work or life experience may be used in place of the degree).
  • Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to the agency's mission and goals.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles.
  • Ability to work independently and pass a background check.
  • Proficiency with computers and frequent data entry.
Hours

Full-time (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime.

Shifts Available

Overnight shifts - 10 p.m.

- 6 a.m., 11 p.m.

- 7 a.m. and 12 a.m.

- 8 a.m.

Salary

Determined by experience, non-exempt.

Location

Not Remote - Office Location is in Wasilla, Alaska
