The Night Aid is part of a team, responsible for role modeling overall wellness to all individuals who receive services at My House. Night Aid will provide support to participants and monitor the participants and facility during the night shift. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for participants in recovery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Represent MY House in a positive and proactive manner at all times maintaining a professional posture with clients.
- Continue to stay current on training and education needed to perform duties to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of incidents, activities, and observations during the shift.
- Document participants’ behavior, any incidents or concerns, and communicate important information to the morning shift staff and clinical team.
- Complete any required reports on time, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and facility policies.
- Observe client self-administered medications according to prescribed instructions ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions related to medication, and report concerns to the clinical team.
- Conduct regular room checks to ensure residents are safe and following facility protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing immediate assistance and notifying appropriate staff or emergency services.
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree.
- Have a working knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care.
- If in recovery, must be in remission for one (1) year and working a program of recovery.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory State and Federal background check.
- Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and be insurable under My House vehicle insurance.
- Certified as a Peer Support Professional I (PSP I).
- Two (2) years’ experience working in the field of recovery.
- Experience in self-administration medication procedures.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Current NPI, QAP and Medicaid enrollment.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to crisis situations and emergencies.
- Ability to deescalate agitated clients.
- Ability to maintain healthy boundaries with clients.
- Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
- Working knowledge of healthcare portability act (42
CFR and HIPAA). - Demonstrate positive work ethic.
- Ability to communicate proficiently, verbally and in writing.
