Overview
Case Manager - Adult Probation - Goldendale, WA - Full-Time - Non-exempt - Grade 38, Steps 1-3, $24.72 - $26.20/Hr. DOQ. First review 2/20/2026. Open until filled.
Supervising and counseling adult misdemeanant and gross misdemeanant offenders for both the East and West District Courts while providing the following services: crisis intervention, interpersonal skill development, monitoring and enforcing court order requirements, treatment planning and coordination, conducting intakes and risk assessments to ensure compliance and reduce possibility of re-offending.
Responsibilities- Interviewing and counseling offenders, helping offenders to modify behavior and referring offenders to appropriate resources in the community to aid in rehabilitation.
- Supervise a caseload of low to high risk offenders.
- Maintain effective interaction with the public, treatment agencies, offenders, legal representatives, law enforcement, family, and other concerned persons, and reviewing documents pertaining to legal and social history of offender.
- Informing offender of legal requirements of court ordered probation which may include visits to office requirements, restitution payments, treatments, or other stipulations and prohibitions.
- Evaluating offender’s progress on follow-up basis including personal interviews with client, review of treatment reports and recent law enforcement contacts, as well as periodic risk classification process while maintaining accurate case files.
- Compiling reports, appearing/testifying in court, and making recommendations concerning program compliance/failure, conditional release/incarceration and alternative sentencing of offender.
- Review driver’s license checks, criminal history checks and review court fines by utilizing the State computer system.
- Coordinates and monitors the Electronic Home Monitoring (EHM) program for both District and Superior Courts by determining client eligibility, properly installing EHM equipment, and daily monitoring for compliance.
- Coordinates and monitors the 24/7 Alcohol Monitoring program for both District and Superior Courts by determining client eligibility, properly activating device, daily monitoring for compliance and notification to the court.
- Monitor, assign and report eligible community service participants to non-profit sites for both District and Superior Courts.
- Perform home/location visits with other authorized staff or law enforcement.
- Assist the Chief Probation Officer with interpreting data for internal and external reports.
- Conduct random urinalysis and breath testing on clients.
- Conduct interview with clients who are incarcerated prior to release.
- No formal supervisory responsibilities, but may train new employees, and/or review the work of volunteers and act as lead work in the absence of the Chief Probation Officer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be
- Combination of a minimum of 4 years of related work experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the work. A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services, police science or closely related field; or completion of training with a recognized training facility is preferred but not required.
Valid state driver’s license in state of residence.
