Position: ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Location: McChord Air Force Base

Duties Help Remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests.

Review and analyze maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devise and recommend tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Analyze equipment failure and malfunctions and suggest changes to improve operation. Perform housekeeping clean-up duties, such as cleaning equipment, sweeping, straightening, and positioning of tools and equipment in the assigned area. Ensure tools are properly marked, calibrated, secured, serviceable and inventoried in accordance with established procedures.

Prepare/execute effective training plans to maximize training. Comply with required instruction, guidance and/or training and provide instruction, guidance and training to others while maintaining personal qualifications. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

* Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
* May be required to fly in military or contract aircraft for TDY maintenance or training, in accordance with the JTRs.
* Perform shift work with uncommon tours of duty.
* May be required to support other units in performing maintenance.

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard Handbook Federal Wage System (FWS) for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook Federal Wage System (FWS) for the 2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family https:// . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. JOB ELEMENTS:
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. (Screen Out Element) 2. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installing, repairing and maintaining electronic integrated systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of a large number of circuits and functions, and the interaction of subsystems which create malfunctions.
3. Skill in the use of electronic, electrical, or electromechanical test and measurement equipment and standard hand and power tools of the electronics trade.
4. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of one or more complex integrated systems such as fire control, navigation, or automatic landing control systems and of mathematics including algebra and trigonometric functions to adapt…
