The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers. This position supports the Construction team and collaborates with personnel within the department.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and potential hazards.
• Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and monitor dig crew activity to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials to complete the job.

Minimum

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (including awkward positions), standing, and twisting. Work may occur in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position is physically active, with lifting required. Ability to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Clarity of vision at various distances and good hand-eye coordination are required, along with color distinction.
