FIELD

The Carpenter position is responsible for maintaining and constructing objects, structures and buildings of varying sizes and applications. Duties include setting forms for foundations; installing floor joists and sub-floors; framing walls; setting roof trusses and rafters; installing roof sheathing, siding, windows and exterior doors; installing wallboard, interior doors, cabinets, millwork, hardware and finish products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Execute high quality work

* Read and understand blueprints, sketches and building plans

* Conform to local building codes

* Have knowledge of construction materials and hardware and their applications

* Use hand, power and air tools and equipment

* Direct laborers as needed

* Perform general laborer work when needed

* Keep work areas in a safe and clean condition

* Be safety conscious at all times; report unsafe conditions immediately

* Ensure tools, safety equipment and safety kits are maintained and accounted for

* Lift, carry, push, pull weights in excess of 100 pounds

* As directed by Project Superintendent, General Superintendent, Project Manager

* Accurately complete and turn in paperwork to a Project Foreman or Project Superintendent on a timely basis

REQUIREMENTS

* High school diploma preferred

* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools and equipment

* Own carpenter hand tools

* Initiative, dependable, motivated, productive

* Skills in oral communications

* Able to work independently and as a team player
