Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer and company policy.
• Appropriately handle emergencies, customer complaints, employee or customer accidents, and supervise all store personnel.
• Maintain a high familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise the sales floor to monitor service and replenish products.
• Replace stock in displays surrounding the checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist other cashiers with computer, register, and scanner problems.
• Perform basic office functions to assist customers and personnel.
• Operate electronic scanning cash register to total customers’ final bill.
• Receive customer payments and provide correct change.
• Bag groceries and lift bags into grocery carts; offer assistance with carry‑out when a Courtesy Clerk is unavailable.
• Possibly complete close‑of‑day functions in the office.
• Possibly count out‑of‑stock product and tills during cashier check‑out periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Related Qualifications

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures and demonstrate prior customer service experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co‑workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Desired:
  Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

All store employees during the absence of the Store Director or Assistant Store Director.
