As a primary contact for A&J customers, the Bakery/Service Deli Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. Wraps and prices bakery/deli goods and places goods on counters, tables and in display cases, assists customers, cleans shelves and display cases, records inventory. Reports primarily to the Service Deli Department Head.

• Serves customers at the deli counter answering their questions and taking their orders.
• Use a price labeling machine to place a price sticker on a packaged item.
• Prepares food including slicing, frying, cooking on the stove, and preparing cold foods.
• Restocks products on the sales floor for both the deli and the bakery.
• Checks customers out using a POS system, recording all transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the deli and bakery areas of the store. Includes cleaning display cases, work surfaces, and straightening up bakery/deli display areas.
• Cleans often, washing dishes, wiping down counters, cleaning floors, cleaning the fryer etc.
• Take cake orders from customers.
• Works freight as needed.
• Frost donuts, decorates cakes, bakes breads and cookies for the bakery as directed.
• All other duties assigned by Management.

Must be 18 years of age.

• Standing for up to 4 hours at a time
• Ability to use a telephone and intercom system
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to bend, Stoop, and Reach
