** position summary:
** responsible for creating, crafting, and presenting the best sushi experience for every guest by embracing the passion for food, guests and the experience that our restaurant exemplifies.
** primary duties and responsibilities:
*** promotes superior guest service.
* maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the spirit of tâlícn and the core values of ilani.
* responsible for supplying and maintaining your own knives**.
*** be proactive in assisting other sushi chefs by taking orders from guests**.
*** improve your skills as a sushi chef by practicing and/or studying (books, internet, dine out).
* follow orders from your leadership.
* be a leader when working at middle section.
* check the quality of fish and other materials when they are delivered to the restaurant.
* check the quality of fish and other materials before preparing dish.
* be proactive with providing an engaging and professional guest experience.
* other duties as assigned.
** qualifications:
*** high school diploma / ged; recognized equivalent of a high school diploma (red) or foreign high school diploma (fhd).
* 3 years’ experience prepping and preparing sushi in a high-volume restaurant.
* must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
* must be able to lift 50 lbs.
* must be able to stand for 8 hours.
* valid food handler’s card.
* must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
