About the Position
Job Title:
Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine WA
Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine in Western Australia. This pivotal role involves providing essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments to our nation's Veterans, supporting their well-being through flexible, short-term engagements. If you're dedicated to delivering quality care, seek flexible work arrangements, and want to make a meaningful difference, this opportunity offers an excellent platform to utilize your expertise in a rewarding government contract setting.
Required Skills:
Active Nurse Practitioner certification/licensure in Australia
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Ability to perform interview-based exams with physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in report submission and documentation
Ability to work independently and adhere to exam protocols
Nice to Have
Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or Veterans’ healthcare
Familiarity with medical certification processes or government healthcare programs
Additional certifications relevant to general medicine or assessment procedures
Experience working with diverse patient populations
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Advanced degree in Nursing (Master's or Doctorate)
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
Previous work in or familiarity with military or veteran healthcare settings is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Availability to work on an PRN basis, including partial or full-day shifts
Ability to travel locally within specified areas (no office required if working remotely)
Reliable access to a private office if working from your own location
Compliance with all credentialing and onboarding procedures, including completion of training
Must adhere to all healthcare and safety regulations applicable in WA
