About the TeamUnder the general supervision of the Emergency Department Director, the ED RN renders general nursing care using initiative and independent judgment, with basic knowledge of nursing principles.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least one year of RN experience in an emergency room (preferred)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
Current and unrestricted Washington State Nursing license;
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS (or ENPC) certifications; TNCC certification required within 6 months of hire.
Specific Duties
- Knowledge of nursing procedures and functions
- Apply age specific principles of growth and development to patient needs
- Respect patient privacy and protect confidential information following HIPAA
- Maintain accountability for patient safety
- Familiar with organization, functions and activities of the nursing unit
- Organize and prioritize assigned work in coordination with other activities on the unit
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Read, write and speak English accurately and legibly
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic medical records and other systems
Union Position Pay Range: $38.70 – $67.63 per hour, depending on experience.
