Pay: $400/week – Room and Board (lodging and food) included
Assist the Camp Nurse as needed with the health concerns of the summer campers and staff. Help in cataloging medications and distributing as far as training allows. Assist in monitoring the camper and staff health and act in emergency situations as part of the medical team.
ScheduleAvailable at the nurse’s station before and after meals, after campfire, and open clinic hours determined by Camp Nurse. Schedule assigned in conjunction with camp schedule and Assistant Camp Administrator.
Responsibilities- Assist in all tasks as assigned by the Camp Nurse
- Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities
- Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters
- Assist with clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer
- Assist with evening cabin supervision
- Enroll in administrative duties as assigned by Camp Nurse or Assistant Camp Administrator
- Enforce camp policies and procedures
- Maintain safety and supervision standards for staff, participants, and visitors
- Prepare cabin and program facility first aid kits and instruct counselors in current first-aid methods
- Administer medications and first-aid treatments under nurse supervision and physician order
- Carry a first-aid bag when leaving the clinic and remain contactable in emergencies
- Maintain daily treatment logs for campers and staff
- Assist with camp registration medical check-in and database entry
- Clean the nurse’s station daily and perform required laundry, ensuring a clean facility for first-aid and medication distribution
- Current CPR certification for Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) or BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for healthcare providers (American Heart Association)
- Current First-Aid certification
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong communication and organization skills
