SCOPE:
Camp Arnold is seeking an individual to join our team as an Assistant for the Ignite Discipleship Program. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the spiritual growth, social & emotional growth, and skill development in the young people y will partner with the Ignite Director in leading daily bible studies, individual & group check-ins, and weekly debriefs with participants.
This position will also act as additional summer support for the program team in various areas of the camp program.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Uphold Camp Arnold policies and Protecting the Mission standards.
- Assist the Ignite director in implementation of Ignite program curriculum.
- Attend program staff and general staff orientation.
- Attend and participate in all Ignite specific programming.
- Attend and participate in camp programs as required by summer program director.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Ignite Director
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Assist in Program Implementation:
- Collaborate with the Ignite Director to plan and execute meaningful and engaging discipleship activities for participants.
- Work closely with the Ignite Director to plan and lead orientation, ensuring an engaging onboarding experience for all participants.
- Collaborate with the Ignite Director in the planning and execution of the campout and hike to Mt. Rainier during orientation.
- Offer support in various program areas as required by the Summer Program Director, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the camp program.
Mentorship and Guidance:
- Build positive relationships with participants, providing mentorship and guidance in their faith journey.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for participants to explore and deepen their faith.
- Assist in facilitation of daily bible studies for Ignite participants.
- Assist & lead daily check ins with participants.
- Assist in all-staff small groups as needed.
- Lead weekly one-on-one debrief sessions with participants, demonstrating confidence in facilitating both encouraging and growth-oriented conversations.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in creating Orientation schedule for Ignite participants.
- Assist in creating weekly schedule for Ignite participants.
- Communicate effectively with camp program team and Ignite Director
- Effectively communicate important information to parents of participants
- Facilitate phone conversations with parents regarding participants behavior when needed.
- Assist in creating agenda for Ignite parent information night.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone.
- Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
- Ability to understand written information.
