A private equity–backed roofing company in Bothell, WA is seeking a highly capable General Manager (GM) to lead the business through its next stage of growth. The incoming GM will work alongside the current owner for the first year to ensure a smooth transition of leadership. After the transition, the GM will assume full responsibility for the organization, including safety, operations, sales, finance, and people leadership.
A core mandate for this role will be building and professionalizing a high‑performing sales organization, implementing modern technology, and elevating the company’s operational rigor to support scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the company’s execution of an aggressive growth strategy centered on residential reroofing.
- Manage, mentor, and develop department leaders in operations, production, sales, finance, and customer service.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting cadence to increase transparency and accountability across the business.
- Foster a performance-oriented and data-driven culture.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Strengthen operational processes, scheduling, project management, and job-costing methodologies.
- Improve field productivity and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Build out a professionalized, metrics-driven sales department, with scalable strategies and processes for recruiting and training sales staff.
- Implement modern sales and sales management methodologies and technology.
- Optimize the company’s implementation of Curb’s Service Titan CRM system and ensure sales process adoption.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to improve lead flow, close rates, and customer lifetime value.
- Install a strategic pricing control process and margin discipline.
- Own the P&L, with full responsibility for profitability.
- Participate in cash flow management, reporting and budgeting, and forecasting with Curb.
- Maintain strong cost controls and vendor relationships.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team culture rooted in accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead hiring initiatives to strengthen the company’s leadership structure.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment across the organization.
- Lead adoption of Service Titan and integrated operational tools.
- Improve data integrity and build dashboards for real-time business visibility.
- Champion a culture of technology adoption and process standardization.
- 7–15+ years of leadership experience in a highly successful company, ideally in roofing or home services. Roofing experience a plus.
- Proven success with broad management responsibility, preferably managing P&L for a business ≥ $5M.
- Demonstrated ability to build or transform a sales organization.
- Experience implementing CRM and project management tools, good understanding of technology.
- Strong operational discipline and understanding of scheduling, job costing, and customer service workflows.
A disciplined, metric-driven operator who has successfully scaled a trades or home-services business, capable of transforming an entrepreneurial company into a professionally managed, growth-oriented organization.
CompensationBase salary range: $120,000 – $145,000, plus performance-based bonus.
