Duties
* You will be responsible for tuning, testing, overhauling, repairing, modifying, calibrating and installing communications electronic equipment required for the operation and maintenance of AN/FRT-3 VLF (15-26
KHZ) 1-megawatt radio transmitter.
* You will operate, maintain, test, overhaul, modify align and repair complex AC and DC voltage, control systems, high voltage breakers, AC and DC circuit transformers and transfer systems.
* You will operate, maintain, test, overhaul, modify align and repair water purification and cooling systems, minimum shift, frequency shift, and continuous wave keying equipment.
* You will operate, maintain, test, align and repair digital communication systems equipment interface devices such as Audio and DC level converters, binary data synchronize rs, analog/binary modem and link terminations.
* You will operate and utilize test equipment such as digital frequency counter, field intensity analyzers, volt/ohm/ampere meters, high voltage probes (AC and DC), high voltage power supplies, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
* You will conduct training for subordinate personnel and be responsible for providing supervision, technical assistance and spot-checking work to ensure compliance with Navy directives, station instruction and safety regulations.
* You will prepare and maintain daily maintenance logs, reports and records. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT NORMAL SUPERVISION:
* Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, circuit diagrams, programmable logic circuitry, technical equipment maintenance and operations manuals, and specifications.
* Experience using a wide variety of electronic test instruments.
* Experience using hand tools including screwdriver, wrenches, pliers, drills, taps, dies, wire strippers, soldering irons, solder pots, heat sinks, and solder extractors.
* Experience working with delicate or precision parts of programmable logic circuitry in a neat and accurate manner,
* Experience using standard computer programs such as Word, Access, Excel, etc.
