General PurposeA Hydro Wireman is a supervising employee who:
- is qualified as a Journeyman Station Wireman with one year experience at a hydro facility
- shall be proficient in all diagnostic testing and analysis of test results for equipment, apparatus and wiring relating to their trade
- works with the employees under their supervision
- has completed the Hydro Wireman check off
In the case of station construction and maintenance crews
- they may supervise no more than three other employees when one of the three is working as a Journeyman, or three or more employees working as Helpers.
- One-year hydro experience required.
- Successful candidates are required to reside in company-provided housing as their primary residence to ensure timely response to project needs. This residency requirement, mandated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to fulfill hydro project response obligations, includes company housing in one of the two villages at the Lewis River Hydro Project.
