Position
:
Entry‑level Deputy Sheriff. Salary $7,417–$8,587/month plus benefits.

Minimum Qualifications- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, at least 21 years old.
- No felony or gross misdemeanor convictions involving controlled substances or physical harm.
- Physical and psychological evaluations by licensed physician and clinical psychologist.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Polygraph exam and extensive background check.
- 12‑month probation period.
- Patrol county, maintain geographic knowledge, observe suspicious activity.
- Traffic enforcement, collision investigation, issuance of citations.
- Criminal investigation: preserve scene, collect evidence, interview witnesses.
- Report writing, court appearance, testimony.
- Public relations: community education, one‑on‑one interaction.
- Professional training:
Basic Law Enforcement Academy, first‑aid CPR, annual continuing education.
4‑day on/4‑day off 11‑hour shift, 13 paid holidays, 1 day sick leave/month, vacation 8–18 hrs/month, deferred compensation match, education incentive, longevity pay, shift differential, uniform allowance, wellness incentive, employer‑paid life insurance, Teamsters health/welfare.
Examination ProcessFour exams:
Physical Ability Test (PAT), Written Exam, Pre‑Eligibility Background Exam (PEBE), Oral Board interview.

Background Exam 30‑question questionnaire.
Oral Board 70% score required.
