Days: 220 day contract
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000
Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
State of Iowa (or can be converted) Administrator License and Evaluator Approval Certification are required or obtainable for the position.
Education
Bachelor's and Master's degrees from an accredited college or university;
School Administration is required.
Experience
- Extensive successful teaching experience at the High School level preferred.
- Successful administrative experience at the High School level preferred.
To provide leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of the High School, to promote the educational development and achievement of students, as well as providing leadership in program and staff development, under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.
WCSD utilizes MTSS and collaborative teams to analyze student data and inform instructional strategies across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains.
The successful candidate will drive change and ensure the building's success, and sustain a positive culture by supporting the vision and mission of the WCSD.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Apply reflective practice to the Standards of School Leaders, including vision, culture of teaching/learning, management, relationships, ethics, and the legal context.
- Direct the continuous evaluation and improvement of instructional programs and teaching practices.
- Formally evaluate employee performance and collaborate with Human Resources on hiring.
- Lead ongoing student assessments to refine instructional methods and ensure robust support for students with special needs.
- Foster a safe, collaborative environment focused on individualized student learning and innovative teaching strategies.
- Build and sustain a positive school culture and ensure student and staff accountability through reflective leadership practice.
- Partner with student personnel services, including counselors and social service agencies, and AEA to support holistic student development.
- Establishes cooperative working relationships with staff and stakeholders through effective verbal and written communication.
- Manage complex projects and deadlines utilizing modern information systems and data analysis.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and the community to foster parental involvement and effective outreach.
- Actively supports students and the broader community by engaging in initiatives and events that extend beyond the standard school day.
- Manages multiple projects and conflicting deadlines in a student-focused environment
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
