This senior role fosters collaboration with other senior engineers for the development of advanced data analytics solutions and agile development projects in support of a high‑visibility mission. This position involves providing technical leadership and guidance on data analytics and agile development projects, as well as collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive mission objectives.

Experience as a Software Engineer with knowledge assisting in the design, development, testing, and debugging of software solutions, with a focus on Linux and Unix operating systems.

Strong familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python and Hadoop.

• Design, create, test, and productize AI/ML algorithms to solve business challenges.
• Ensure AI/ML models are capable of learning and making predictions as defined by business logic.
• Apply knowledge of model architecture, data pipeline interaction, and metrics application, interpretation, and presentation.
• Manage data pipeline development, model training, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and improvement through iterative feedback.
• Lead geographically diverse teams and act as primary point of contact for AI‑related matters.
• Perform statistical analysis, run machine learning algorithms, and use results to improve models.
• Train and retrain systems when needed, and provide system integration oversight.
• Run standard test and evaluation protocols, and oversee test and evaluation of AI and ML algorithms to meet verification and validation requirements.
• Research and implement a broad range of AI and ML algorithms and tools.
• Transform and convert data science prototypes into scalable solutions.
• Verify data and model output quality, and identify differences in data distribution that affect performance.
• Develop AI logic, semantics, ontologies, and knowledge representation.
• Design ML algorithms according to customer requirements.
• Research, experiment with, and implement suitable ML algorithms and tools.
• Broaden current AI/ML frameworks and machine learning libraries.

• TS/SCI with Polygraph Required.
• 10 years experience deploying machine learning algorithms.
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in advanced math, artificial intelligence, data science, computer science or deep learning from an accredited college or university.
• 7 additional years machine learning experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree may be substituted for a Master's degree.
• Demonstrated abilities in software engineering and AI/ML model test and evaluation.
• Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages, e.g. Python, Java, C, R.

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $150,800 - $265,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Salary is a general guideline and is determined by various factors.
