Position: Aircraft Maintenance / Egress Supervisor (DFC)- F-35 Program

F‑35 Aircraft Maintenance Egress Supervisor assigned to NAS Patuxent River’s F‑35 Integrated Test Force (ITF). Provides full spectrum leadership to the ITF’s Flight Test Maintenance department represented personnel deployed to NAS Patuxent River.

Responsibilities

Other responsibilities include delivering detailed aircraft Egress maintenance planning for F‑35 aircraft and support equipment.

  • Manage general services, repairs, and overhaul of F‑35 aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced for the Development Foundation Contract (DFC).
  • Direct periodic inspections and general repairs or modifications requiring replacement and assembly of parts. Provides technical assistance as required.
  • Create and assign work‑orders in the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
  • Assist in signing the aircraft exceptional release off and verifying aircraft are safe for flight.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Must be deployable to US Naval vessels and throughout the continental US.
  • Must be flexible to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts and weekend duty.
  • Selected candidate will be integral to test planning and coordination with Test Operations, Flight Operations, Air Vehicle Engineering, Logistics, Safety, Quality & Mission Success, GFR/Aviation Performance Team and NAS Patuxent River base agencies. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of hands‑on maintenance experience on aircraft egress/aviation life support equipment.
  • Fighter Aircraft Maintenance experience (F‑35, F‑22, F‑15, F‑16, F‑18, etc.).
  • Experience with removal/installation of fighter aircraft canopies, ejection seats, maintaining and inspecting canopies, explosive devices, inventories, stores, removal and replacement of seat Cartridge Actuated Device/Pneumatic Actuated Device (CAD/PAD) explosive items.
  • Flight line and intermediate aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience in modification, inspection, and troubleshooting and test of aircraft and associated systems.
  • Experience with Aircraft Ground Operations Procedures and Aviation Safety.
Desired Skills
  • F‑35 aircraft maintenance ejection seat experience preferred.
  • Quality Assurance experience.
  • Flight Test experience.
  • Experience managing in a Union environment.
  • Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Explosives Handling Certified – per OPNAVINST
    8023.24 (Navy) or MCO
    8023.3 (Marine Corps).
  • Completion of AMMO‑18‑DL and/or AMMO‑49‑DL Explosives Handling Courses.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands‑on maintenance experience on aircraft egress/aviation life support equipment.
