Location: Pacific Beach

Summary

Position assigned to NAF Pacific Beach Recreation Lodging Property, Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR), Commander, Navy Region Northwest. Pacific Beach is a mid‑size lodging facility with restaurant, bar, gift shop, RV and camp sites and cottages. Purpose is to manage daily guest services operations including group and individual reservations, front desk operations, and the gift shop.

Duties Guest Relations and Front Desk Operations
  • Supervises front desk operations including reservations, cashiering, check‑in, check‑out, room assignments, and inventory control.
  • Coordinates with relevant department heads to resolve administrative problems and complaints.
  • Coordinates with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy.
  • Ensures operations operate in accordance with established instructions and procedures.
  • Maintains guest privacy and security measures.
  • Accounts for change fund, prepares and deposits cash receipts.
  • Coordinates with Region Business Office on group billing, group contracts, and direct billing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties
  • Establishes objectives, planning, and priorities for workload.
  • Prepares weekly labor schedules and adjusts labor to revenue fluctuations.
  • Improves quality of work and devises cost‑saving strategies.
  • Conducts regular meetings to discuss business growth and industry promotion.
  • Manages personnel resources, resolves minor grievances, ensures effective workforce utilization.
  • Monitors, approves, or disapproves timekeeping and leave requests.
  • Establishes performance standards, conducts annual reviews, and recommends employee recognition.
  • Takes corrective action for disciplinary or performance issues.
  • Interviews and recommends candidates for selection, promotion, or reassignment.
  • Performs other related supervisory duties.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver’s license for travel within the region (10%).
  • Pass all applicable records and background checks.
  • Work varied schedules including holidays, weekends, evenings; may be recalled to duty and/or required overtime.
Qualifications

Requires two years of general experience demonstrating knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations, and administration related to hospitality functions. Requires minimum one‑year specialized experience managing front desk or retail operations.
