Patient Care Technician, Mental Health
Location: Colville
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Behavioral Health Technician at our Crisis House located in Colville, Washington. The CSF provides easily accessible emergency intervention services 24/7. With a goal of maximizing individual and community safety through the provision of immediate, high quality, and evidence-based treatment and intervention services, we aim to stabilize the person in crisis. The Behavioral Health Technician fulfills a pivotal role in achieving this goal by assisting clients with life skills support and training, understanding medication effects/medication monitoring and providing a positive and supportive environment in which the client has an opportunity to stabilize.
Your day to day will be in assisting with meals, personal hygiene, clients care for their rooms and laundry, assistance with appointments and transportation and other essential activity of daily living necessary to stabilize acute symptoms of mental illness. Coordination with other care providers is paramount to the success of stabilization services and this role works with a cross functional team for all around support of clients in crisis.
- Certification as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (may be obtained upon hire) or Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred) by the Washington State Department of Health required
- Current CPR certification required (may be obtained upon hire)
- Washington State Food Handler Permit (may be obtained upon hire)
- High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience working with adults suffering mental disorders or chemical dependency strongly preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within our electronic health records system to maintain documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
