Our District: The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,000 students enrolled K-12. Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.
Our Community: Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area, Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our “backyard” is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains. Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar. Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

The Sultan School District is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated applicants for the position of Speech / Language Pathologist. The speech / language pathologist is a certified speech pathologist and hearing therapist who provides evaluative, habilitative (therapy), and consultative services for students with disabilities in need of language, speech or hearing therapy.
Essential Functions- Evaluates students using appropriate tests, clinical observation, and supplementary information from other agencies and records.
- Develops individual treatment goals and activities.
- Administers treatment and evaluates its effect.
- Participates in the multi‑disciplinary meeting to develop Individual Education Plans.
- Instructs and monitors educational personnel, community agencies, and parents in the management of the therapy program.
- Participates in the development and evaluation of a school‑wide physical therapy program.
- Participates in documenting material needs.
- Participates and engages in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
- Utilize inclusive practices to support all learners.
- Differentiate instruction (product, process, content, practice) to meet the needs of all learners.
- Provide evidence of personal continuous learning and growth in grade level/subject.
- Maintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with State guidelines and school policy.
- Inventories equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Current academic knowledge in subject area.
- Assessment and evaluation techniques.
- Current laws, regulations, and issues surrounding confidential records and student information (FERPA).
- Current research and best practices in physical therapy pertaining to special education.
- Discipline rules and regulations as defined by the federal and state rules and regulations including IDEA 97.
- Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) related to student discipline and Individual Educational Programs (IEP).
- Curriculum and instruction programs proven to be beneficial to pupils with special learning needs.
