Exciting Opportunity for a Passionate Physical Therapist!
  • Position: Physical Therapist
  • Hours: 32 hours a week
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters Degree from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Experience: Experience working directly with patients in a long-term care or hospital setting
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current Physical Therapist state license, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Skills: Excellent verbal communication, documentation skills, a team player, and the ability to cater to the age-related needs of patients
Position Summary:
  • Plan and execute rehabilitation programs aimed at helping patients regain physical function after accidents or surgeries
  • Manage pain associated with degenerative conditions or terminal diseases
  • Utilize a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, and muscular skeletal manipulation
  • Collaborate with speech therapists and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient outcomes
  • 90% outpatient, 10% inpatient
Responsibilities:
  • Consult with patients to understand their physical condition and review medical history
  • Diagnose movement dysfunctions by observing patient movement
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Coach patients in therapeutic exercises and stretches to enhance recovery
  • Perform hands-on therapy such as massage for pain relief and healing enhancement
  • Maintain detailed patient records relating to care plans and progress
  • Communicate patient progress and status with family, providers, and care teams
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and work environment
  • Interact compassionately with diverse patients and families
  • Provide information to comfort patients and their families, showing sensitivity and care
  • Foster strong communication with healthcare team members and referral agencies
  • Report security concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
Teamwork:
  • Accept assignments based on priority and unit needs
  • Collaborate with care providers to enhance patient care
  • Communicate patient conditions to the relevant healthcare staff
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts and enhance teamwork
  • Punctual and reliable in attendance
Professional Development:
  • Participate in in-services, continuing education, and departmental meetings
  • Contribute to peer performance reviews upon request
  • Respond to opportunities for improving patient care and service
