Position Overview

Immunome is a clinical-stage targeted oncology company committed to developing first-in-class and best-in-class targeted cancer therapies. We are advancing an innovative portfolio of therapeutics, drawing on leadership that previously played key roles in the design, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate therapies. Our pipeline includes varegacestat, a late-clinical stage GSI; IM-1021, a clinical-stage ROR1 ADC; and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radiotherapy that recently received IND clearance.

We are also advancing a broad portfolio of early stage ADCs pursuing undisclosed solid tumor targets.

This individual will be a key scientific contributor within the Translational Sciences organization, supporting the integration of anatomic pathology into early discovery, target validation, mechanistic research, and translational activities for the company’s targeted oncology portfolio. In this highly collaborative role, the individual will work closely with discovery biology, translational medicine, bioinformatics, and clinical development teams to ensure that tissue-based insights inform target biology, translational relevance, and program decision-making from concept through early clinical development.

The position requires expertise in veterinary anatomic pathology, a strong foundation in tumor biology and immuno-oncology, and the ability to work effectively across scientific disciplines. The individual will also partner closely with the internal histology laboratory to support high-quality tissue processing, staining, and analysis in support of discovery and translational studies.

Responsibilities Pathology Leadership & Scientific Strategy
  • Serve as a scientific contributor providing anatomic pathology expertise, disease pathogenesis insight, and tissue-based biomarker interpretation for discovery and translational programs.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert to discussions on target biology, model selection, in vitro/in vivo alignment, target liability, and translational relevance across multiple therapeutic programs.
Histopathologic Evaluation & Advanced Tissue Analytics
  • Perform histopathologic evaluation of tissues from discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies to assess target expression, pathology phenotypes, mechanism of action, and biomarker distribution.
  • Apply and support the use of tissue-based platforms (ex. IHC, ISH, multiplex imaging, and digital image analysis) to enable qualitative and quantitative assessments.
  • Integrate pathology findings with in vitro data and multi-omics outputs (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) to support mechanistic understanding and translational hypotheses.
  • Prepare high-quality pathology summaries and written reports to support internal data review, program decisions, and study documentation.
Collaboration & Scientific Communication
  • Participate as a pathology representative on cross-functional project teams and contribute to internal and external scientific discussions.
  • Communicate pathology findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including discovery scientists, translational researchers, and clinicians.
  • Contribute to scientific publications, abstracts, presentations, and internal knowledge-sharing efforts related to tissue-based translational research.
Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD, or equivalent.
  • Board certification in veterinary pathology (ACVP/ECVP) required.
  • Ph.D., Pharm

D, MD, or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. cancer biology, toxicology, molecular pathology).
  • Experience in IHC/ISH, multiplex imaging, digital pathology tools, and interpretation of tissue-based biomarkers.
  • 1-4 years’ experience in discovery, translational research, or nonclinical sciences preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Solid foundation in tumor biology, cancer immunology, and molecular oncology.
  • Experience designing, executing, interpreting, and reporting exploratory pathology studies.
  • Familiarity with comparative biomarker assay development.
  • Ability to assess translational relevance and target liability using integrated in vitro and in vivo data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic research environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex pathology concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary internal and external teams.
